Ohio’s Treasure raspberry plants are grown exclusively in vitro. They are called regeneration plants, which means they are of superior quality compared with plants propagated traditionally in the field. They are generally healthier, more vigorous and more productive than field-grown bare-root plants. They also have the advantage of adapting more easily to the climatic and soil conditions where they are planted. Trayplants are delivered ready to be planted in the field from May to autumn.

A distinct new cultivar of black raspberry ‘Ohio’s Treasure’, fruiting from both primocane and floricane. The new cultivar fruits from normal overwintering florican buds on primocanes, and from long basal florican clusters in late spring, resulting in good productivity over a particularly long harvest season.

Harvesting from late summer through to autumn frost will result in the highest yield and largest fruit. Once the fruit begins to ripen in August, harvesting can be completed every 3 to 5 days over an eight-week period.

The deep black fruits are firm, full-flavored, and like many colorful black fruits, rich in vitamins and phytonutrients. Fruits are an acceptable size of 2.1 grams, slightly smaller than Jewell.

Plants are cold-tolerant to USDA zones 3 – 8.
