Description

Hardy Kiwi Pascha – Actinidia kolomikta

* Fiche détaillée à télécharger

The Pascha variety has decorative foliage adorned with white, pink and silver-gray spots during the summer.

Given its hardiness of zone 4, Pascha must be sheltered from the wind and accumulated snow on the ground. Its soil must be well drained, rich and cool. We suggest an exposure to the sun.

It is a male selection, so it will not bear fruit but is essential to pollinate the variety September Sun.

Generalities Hardy Kiwi

Arctic kiwi (Actinidia kolomikta) is a very robust and vigorous dioecious plant, requiring both male and female plants to produce fruit.

The fruit is smaller than in kiwai (Actinidia arguta) but the plants start producing at the age of 2 or 3 years.

The female plants produce ovoid fruits of the size of a large grape, very rich in vitamin C and potassium.

It is necessary to pick the fruit before its maturity because the ripe fruits tend to fall on the ground.

This mini kiwi is resistant to winter frost down to -40 Celsius.
