Doctor Maxine Thompson is professor emeritus of the University of Oregon’s Horticulture Department. She is one of the key Haskap experts in the United States. Her varieties originate in northern Japan. She concentrates her research on drawing the best Japanese characterisitcs of the Haskap cultivars – large oval berries with uniform maturation.
