Blue grappe

This section describes a few of the main wine varieties grown in Quebec. Our harsh climate led local wine growers to search out new vine varieties and introduce interesting new flavours to wine lovers. Why not them a try?

This very productive variety yields average-size dark-blue, almost black grapes that are very sweet and savoury. Flowers bloom in spring and harvest starts in September (early harvest). Hardy plant that can withstand temperatures as low as -30 °C in Zone 4, this variety is slightly sensitive to mildew and mushroom spawn. Very good pip-free table grapes.
