Orange energy sea buckthorn has large, moderately thorny side branches, it produces an abundance of large, light orange fruit with a high sugar content.
The harvest is so great in September, the shrub becomes completely orange! This makes it easy to harvest by hand.
Sea Buckthorn is a beautiful dioecious shrub bearing orange colored fruit on branches with or without thorns.
Male plants bloom slightly earlier than females by 6-10 days and 12-15 weeks are required until full fruit maturity. One male plant is needed to pollinate 5-7 females. Female shrubs usually bear fruit after three years and yield at their peak after seven to eight years.
The small fruit can contain up to 30 times more vitamin C than an orange. Thanks to this exceptional vitamin C content, sea buckthorn has a strong antioxidant power and helps boost the immune system and fight against oxidative stress responsible for premature aging of cells.
The berries also provide effective benefits for the skin thanks to its high content of fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6)
The shrub has the particularity of amending the relatively poor soils. It is recommended to fight against soil erosion or as a windbreak.
