Highbush Blueberry

Unlike the dwarf blueberry, which grows in clusters, the corymb blueberry is bushy, which makes it perfect for row cropping, and its berries are 3-5 times larger. Initiated in Quebec durin the 1960s, production has developed rather rapidly over the part ten years. Hybrids were developed by the USDA during the first half of the 20th Century, through selective reproduction of the native dwarf blueberry. This is a magnificent shrub that yields superb large berries, but its hardiness must be considered before purchasing. Best performance requires three cultivars.
