Wine grape vines
Hardy hybrid vines
This section describes a few of the main wine varieties grown in Quebec. Our harsh climate led local wine growers to search out new vine varieties and introduce interesting new flavours to wine lovers. Why not them a try?
This American hybrid is nicely adapted for northern climates. It yields large bunches of mid-size, oval golden grapes with tender skin, no pips and great flavour. Makes excellent sweet raisons. One of the best pip-free varieties. The small green flowers are self-pollinizing and the grapes ripen in late August, early September. Very hardy plant for Zone 4.
